From October 12 to 25, 2026, “Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Rural Development of Venezuela”, undertaken by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was successfully held in Beijing and Hunan. Lasting 14 days, the seminar brought together 18 officials from the National Institute of Agriculture of Venezuela, the State of Anzoátegui and Ministry of Communes and Social Movements of Venezuela. Deputy Director-General Jie Ping of the IPRCC attended and delivered addresses at both the opening ceremony and closing ceremony. Ms. Anni Erilin Castañeda González, Academic Director of the National Institute of Agriculture of Venezuela, spoke on behalf of the participants at the opening ceremony, while Mr. Jesus Maria Figuera Gonzalez, Head of Production and Economy Division of the Government of Anzoátegui State, Venezuela, delivered remarks on behalf of participants at the closing ceremony. Xi Jinping: The Governance of China Volume V in Spanish were presented to student representatives at opening ceremony.

Centered on the theme of “Poverty Reduction and Rural Development”, the seminar featured thematic lectures and cultural activities in Beijing. The participants then traveled to Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, for field visits to projects concerning poverty-alleviation relocation, integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism industries, mechanisms linking farmers to industrial benefits, and health support for poverty reduction and rural development.

Mr. Felipe Vanegaz Quintero, member of Ministry of the People's Power for Communes, Social Movements and Urban Agriculture, writes: “China’s governance offers one of the most solid new forms of civilization for the world today. To judge the true success of a nation, we should not only look at its installed power generation capacity in millions of kilowatts or its industrial density. More importantly, we should see whether it can eradicate absolute poverty within its territory with firm moral commitment. We deeply recognize that a nation cannot entrust its future to others. Faced with the great achievements China has accomplished, we must reflect on ourselves with sincerity and take on our historical role with the sense of being masters of our own country.”
