On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, let us reaffirm our commitment to a world where everyone lives with dignity, security, and opportunity.

While one in ten people still lives in extreme poverty, China’s experience demonstrates how strong commitment and inclusive policies can lift millions out of poverty. 

Pakistan’s case reminds us that disasters and economic shocks can undo hard-won progress, making resilient social protection essential.

As a founding member and Vice-Chair of GPPAD, Pakistan remains committed to sharing knowledge, strengthening partnerships, and promoting innovative social protection solutions.

Let us remember: Poverty is not humanity’s destiny. It is a challenge we have the power to overcome – together
