On March 19,2026, Mr. Liu Junwen, Director General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China(IPRCC) and Ms. Jiao Dian, Deputy Director General of the IPRCC met with Solly Mapaila, General Secretary of the South African Communist Party and his delegation in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on poverty reduction and rural development.

Director General Liu Junwen welcomed the delegation from the South African Communist Party and briefed them on China’s targeted poverty reduction strategy and current efforts to implement regular targeted assistance and continuously consolidate and expand the achievements in poverty alleviation. General Secretary Mapaila introduced the current situation and challenges of poverty reduction and rural development, as well as the implementation of the People’s Red Caravan Project promoted by the South African Communist Party against the background. He highly praised the important role of the IPRCC in international poverty reduction cooperation and expected to build deeper collaboration with the IPRCC in the future.

Personnel from the Research Division, Cooperation Division, and Foreign Affairs Division of the IPRCC attended the meeting.
