On March 12, 2026, during the Milan 2026 Winter Paralympics, a seminar titled "Sharing Development Rights: China's Practices in Poverty Reduction for Disabled Persons" conference was held at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy. Ms. Jiao Dian, Deputy Director-General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was invited to attend the sharing session and delivered video remarks, sharing China’s achievements as well as its practices and experience in poverty alleviation among rural persons with disabilities.

The seminar was co-hosted by the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF), the China International Communications Group (CICG), and the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture. Participants engaged in discussions on China's poverty reduction practices and experiences related to persons with disabilities, exploring pathways to promote inclusive development. Mr. Cheng Kai, chairman of the CDPF and Head of the Chinese Delegation to the Milan 2026 Winter Paralympics, and Mr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the FAO, attended the seminar and delivered remarks. Nearly 100 participants attended the event, including permanent representatives to the UN agencies for food and agriculture from various countries, as well as officials, experts, and scholars from relevant Italian institutions.
