Director General Liu welcomed Mr. George and his delegation and briefed them on China’s continued efforts to consolidate and expand the achievements of the battle against poverty and to institutionalize regularized targeted assistance mechanisms. He noted that since the establishment of IPRCC in 2005, the two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in the field of international poverty reduction. Looking ahead, he expressed IPRCC’s readiness to further deepen collaboration with UNDP, particularly in support of the development of GPPAD and in exploring broader and more sustainable areas of cooperation.

He commended IPRCC’s important role in advancing international cooperation on poverty reduction and acknowledged the achievements made under the existing cooperation framework, including policy dialogues, knowledge products, and international exchange activities. He underscored the significance of establishing GPPAD and reaffirmed UNDP’s full support for its development. He also noted UNDP’s interest in strengthening cooperation in areas such as green development and poverty reduction, as well as facilitating the sharing of China’s poverty reduction experience with the international community.
