From August 21 to September 3, 2025, the "Seminar on Rural and Urban Development and Rural Revitalization for Developing Countries" was successfully held in Beijing and Zhejiang Province, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China. The 14-day seminar was attended by 28 officials from seven countries including Jordan, Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Cambodia, Fiji and Samoa. Jie Ping, Deputy Director General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China attended both the opening and closing ceremonies and delivered speeches. Mr. AL TAKHINEH KAID HAMAD AFNAN, the manager of the Local Development Fund Department of the Jordan Urban and Rural Development Bank, and Mr. LEANG BUNLONG, an official from the Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia, respectively delivered speeches on behalf of the participants at the opening and closing ceremonies.

This seminar was themed "Urban and Rural Development and Rural Revitalization". The participants attended thematic lectures and cultural experience activities in Beijing, and went to Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province for on-site investigations of projects related to the construction of beautiful villages, rural governance, agricultural industrial development, and vocational education. The participants have been deeply inspired and educated after visiting four village-level research sites where the General Secretary worked in Zhejiang in the past.

Mr. Leang Bunlong, an official from the Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia expressed: "From seminar discussions in Beijing to field visits to beautiful villages in Zhejiang, we were fully immersed throughout - not only listening to explanations but also witnessing and experiencing firsthand, and directly interacting with the successful outcomes of rural revitalization. This experience of 'Policy implementation yields tangible results' is an invaluable gain for us. The learning in the past two weeks has brought us knowledge and inspiration that can change our cognition. We found a clear answer of 'how to narrow the urban-rural gap' from China's practical model.”
