To further promote the establishment of a learning-oriented institution and foster a strong atmosphere of "loving reading, reading good books, and reading effectively," the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) has officially launched a series of activities to build a "scholarly organization", taking the 30th "World Book Day" as an opportunity. The initiative aims to stimulate the reading enthusiasm of staff members, enhance their overall quality, and inject spiritual impetus into the IPRCC’s development.
During the event, IPRCC's labor union organized a wishlist collection for the "Scholarly Organization Reading Corner" among all staff members, accurately meeting the staff’s various reading needs. The wishlist received covered various fields including politics, history, management, literature, and health. From these, 10 outstanding titles, such as "Chasing the Chinese Dream: Four Decades of Following China’s War on Poverty," were selected and recommended to the labor union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Additionally, a batch of books was purchased to strengthen the construction of the staff library.
On April 23rd, on the occasion of the "World Book Day," IPRCC's labor union, in collaboration with the youth league branch, held the launch ceremony for the "Scholarly Organization" Reading Month initiative. The wishlist books were packaged as"blind boxes" for choosing and exchanging, allowing everyone to enjoy the joy and charm of reading. After that, representatives of IPRCC's young cadres shared their reading insights, analyzing China's development trajectory, governance wisdom, and people's livelihood concerns from different perspectives, demonstrating their diligent and aspirational spirit.
In the next step, IPRCC will continue to deepen the construction of the "Scholarly Organization" by creating distinctive reading brands, expanding reading service functions, and strengthening the transformation of reading outcomes. It will promote the deep integration of reading with professional work, providing solid cultural support for the establishment of a learning-oriented, innovative, and service-oriented institutional unit.
