I. Background
To further disseminate successful poverty reduction experiences from China and the international community, facilitate partnerships for poverty reduction, promote South-South Cooperation in poverty reduction, and to harness collective wisdom to jointly build a mutual development community with a shared future for humanity with no poverty, in 2018, the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), the China Internet Information Center (CIIC), the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as well as three UN agencies based in Rome, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and UN World Food Programme (WFP), jointly launched the Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices initiative. It aims to leverage poverty reduction case studies as a carrier of practical experiences, summarize poverty reduction models, share poverty governance solutions of different countries, and develop a series of public knowledge products for poverty reduction, so as to better realize the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
