Seminar for 2024 Lancang-Mekong Poverty Reduction Cooperation Convened in Yunnan

November 5, 2024, Seminar for 2024 Lancang-Mekong Poverty Reduction Cooperation was held at Lincang City of Yunnan Province.

The seminar, co-hosted by International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) and Rural Revitalization Development and Cooperation Center of Yunnan Province, discussed the implementation of Integrated Sustainable Development of Quality of Life Based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Program, which was sponsored by Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund.

In the afternoon, participants of the seminar paid a field visit to the project village at Mayidui Township, Linxiang District.

Li Xin, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, Liu Yejun, Deputy Head of Yunnan Rural Revitalization Development and Cooperation Center, Du Jingjing, Deputy Head of Yunnan Rural Revitalization Development and Cooperation Center, together with Gao Yunxia, Member of Standing Committee and Vice District Governor of the Linxiang District attended the seminar and delivered opening remarks

Li Li, Associate Professor of China Agricultural University, and Wang Weiwei, Deputy Head of Rural Revitalization Leadership Team of Alibaba Foundation of Lincang County also attended the seminar and shared their experience on implementing rural revitalization pilot projects and developing e-commerce to reduce poverty at village level. Participants then exchanged their insights and advice on further deepening poverty reduction cooperation under Lancang-Mekong framework. Relevant officials from IPRCC also attended the seminar and joined the field visit.
