From August 30 to September 12, 2024, the Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Development for Uzbekistan, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was successfully held in Beijing. 33 officials from Uzbekistan's employment and poverty reduction departments attended the seminar. On September 12, Dr. Liu Junwen, Director General of IPRCC, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Imamov Shokir, Director of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, gave a speech on behalf of the participants.
During their stay in China, the participants learned about China's policies, measures, and implementation models for promoting development and poverty reduction, especially listened the lecture of Juncao Technology and Its International Cooperation, which is given by Ms. Lin Dongmei, Deputy Director of China National Juncao Research Center. They exchanged and shared Uzbekistan's poverty reduction policies and practices, In Weifang City, Shandong Province they visited the projects such as modern agricultural planting, poultry breeding, flower cultivation, agricultural cultural tourism digital economy industrial park, cooperative construction, vocational education, agricultural machinery and intelligent equipment enterprises, elderly health care, rural governance etc.. They gained a deep understanding of the local experience, practices, and outstanding achievements in promoting poverty reduction and rural development.
Mr. Imamov Shokir, Director of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, stated that in the past two weeks, we have gained a deep understanding of China's targeted poverty alleviation strategy and realized that accurate planning, rational resource allocation, and close cooperation among various levels of departments are the key to success. In Weifang City, Shandong Province, we witnessed firsthand China's achievements in agriculture and industry, learned modern planting and cultivation techniques, learned how Weifang Zhengda successfully applied technology and innovation to animal husbandry production, and how the brand became a powerful tool for promoting products to the international market. The automation level and technological solutions for flower planting have left a deep impression on us. But the most impressive thing is how China integrates digital technology into agriculture. During the seminar, we reported the experience we have learned in China to our national leaders. The President of our country attaches great importance to it and has held a special meeting on poverty reduction to study the suggestions we have put forward.
Mr. Yakubov Odiljon, the Director of Employment and Poverty Reduction Department in Surkhan River Oblast, Uzbekistan, said that we were extremely excited to take China's high-speed railway to conduct the filed visit in Shandong Province. During the filed visit, China's natural scenery, agricultural product processing, and greenhouses all left me with a fantastic impression. I have learned about the living conditions of villagers in China's new rural areas and truly experienced their daily lifestyle. The development of rural service industry, poultry farming, flower cultivation, and cattle farming has also deepened my understanding and knowledge of China.
The participants highly recognize and appreciate China's strategy of targeted poverty alleviation and its great achievements in poverty alleviation. They hope to continue to strengthen the cooperation with China in the future and have more opportunities to come to China again for training and field visit.
