On July 7th, 2024, the Seminar on Chinese Modernization and Global Shared Development for Philippines, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was closed in Beijing. Ms. Jie Ping, Deputy Director General of IPRCC attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Cadiang Norifel Teddie, Acting Project Manager for the National Economic Development Authority in Philippines delivered a speech on behalf of all participants.
Themed with "Chinese Modernization and Global Shared Development," the seminar was held in Beijing from June 30 to July 9, 2024. A total of 17 participants from Philippines, representing the Ministry of Finance, National Economic Development, and Public Works and Highways departments, attended the seminar. During their stay in China, the participants conducted field visits to Shiyan City in Hubei Province to observe rural construction and governance, follow-up support for poverty alleviation and relocation, education security system construction, industrial development, e-commerce, integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, green low-carbon digital new parks and other aspects. The field visit further deepened their understanding of China's poverty reduction and development policies.
