Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (State Standards Commission) issued National Standard Announcement No. 10 of 2023, which stipulates the mandatory release of the national standard for Restricting Excessive Packaging of Goods and Requirements for Fresh Edible Agricultural Products (GB 43284-2023). This standard was drafted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and will be implemented from April 1, 2024. The release and implementation of this standard will provide a law enforcement basis and basic support for strengthening the full chain governance of excessive packaging of goods, guiding enterprises in the production and operation of fresh and edible agricultural products to moderately and reasonably package, and standardizing market supervision.
