On 4th September 2023, the Seminar on Rural Development and Poverty Elimination for Laos sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), concluded in Beijing. Ms. Li Xin, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, attended the closing ceremony and addressed a speech, while Mr. Somsanith Onechanh, Head of Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Boken Province, delivered a speech on behalf of all the participants. 

The seminar was successfully held from 22nd August to 4th September 2023 in Beijing city and Yunnan province, with a total of 21 administrative and technical officials from rural development departments of central government, provincial governments and municipal governments of Laos.Under the theme of “Rural Development and Poverty Elimination”, the seminar was conducted through a combination of thematic lectures, field visits and discussion-exchanges.
