Seminar on Rural Development and Poverty Reduction for Developing CountriesHeld in Beijing

From July 25 to August 7, 2023, the Seminar on Rural Development and Poverty Reduction for Developing Countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was held in Beijing. Ms. Jie Ping, Deputy Director General of IPRCC attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. SAMUEL KOFI DARKWA, senior researcher of Ghana Institute of Economic Affairs and Mr. SAMUEL EMEKA ONYENOBIA, Policy Officer of Partnerships and Resources Mobilization Directorate delivered speeches on behalf of all participants.

The seminar lasts 14 days and a total of 21 participants from different departments including planning, finance, think tanks and public services from 10 countries and organizations including Burundi, Nepal, Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, Lesotho, Ghana, Uganda, Egypt, Uzbekistan and African Union attended the seminar. The participants had field visits to Nanchong and Guangyuan City in Sichuan Province.
