On the afternoon of February 23, 2023, the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) and BN Vocational School (BNVS) jointly held the 2023 Annual meeting on Vocational Education Assistance and Cooperation in Beijing to summarize and review their work in 2022 and make annual plan for specific tasks in 2023. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Yao Li, President of the BNVS, and Dr. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of the IPRCC attended the meeting.

Ms. Yao Li introduced the specific situation and main achievements of vocational education assistance in Weiyuan county in Gansu province, Leishan county in Guizhou which are the designated assistance counties and Shicheng county in Jiangxi province which is the pairing assistance county of National Rural Revitalization Administration (NRRA). She also introduced the new educational concept on the quality and comprehensive mode in the area of vocational education which can cultivate students’ whole-life learning ability. Finally, she proposed the plan for assistance and cooperation in vocational education in 2023

Dr. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, fully acknowledged the achievements of the assistance and cooperation in vocational education in 2022, and expressed his gratitude for BNVS’ strong support in the design assistance cooperation of IPRCC which implemented the NRRA designated assistance work. He said that in 2023, the IPRCC would continue to strengthen the cooperation with BNVS and make further efforts in the work. With the further optimization and adjustment of the Covid-19 policy, both sides can go to three counties to conduct on-site enrollment interviews as appropriate, hold the offline training programs for the teachers in three counties, improve the effectiveness of work, and make new contributions to connecting the achievements of consolidating and expanding poverty alleviation with rural revitalization.
