The wrap-up meeting for World Bank Program Green Agriculture and Rural Revitalization Project Phase II (GARR II) appraisal mission kicked off on January 13, 2023 via video link.

Wu Zengyi, Deputy Director General of the General Affairs Department of the National Rural Revitalization Administration (NRRA) delivered the concluding remarks. Dr. Tan Weiping, Deputy Director General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) chaired the meeting. Zhan Ling, Senior Inspector of Development and Guidance Department of NRRA, and Xie Zhongwu, Deputy Director General of the Information Center of NRRA attended the meeting.

Dr.Tan reiterated the close attention paid by the NRRA leadership to the program. He urged the management team of Hunan and Hubei Province to finish all the tasks as requested by the World Bank team efficiently and proficiently so as to be ready for the negotiations.

Dr. Ladisy Komba Chengula, head of the World Bank appraisal mission and World Bank’s leading agricultural economist, together with experts of the appraisal mission introduced the results achieved by the mission, issues pending to solve and plan for the next step.

Staff from Planning and Finance Department, Development and Guidance Department of NRRA, the Information Center and the IPRCC, along with staff from Hunan and Hubei Provinces and project counties also attended the meeting.
