According to the report, 16,196 rural water supply projects have been completed since 2022, improving the level of water supply security for 74.49 million rural people, and rural tap water penetration rate of China has reached 87%, an increase of 2 percentage points over the annual target. In addition, the Ministry of Water Resources and four other departments issued a notice on accelerating the construction of large-scale water supply projects in rural areas. As of early December, the construction of 1,852 rural-scale water supply projects had been completed, and the proportion of rural population covered by large-scale water supply projects reached 56%, an increase of 2 percentage points over the annual target.

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Rural Revitalization Bureau co-released the fourth batch of typical cases of rural governance in China. There are 31 cases in this batch. These cases are practical, operational and learnable, involving different levels such as provincial, municipal, county, township and village, covering different regions of the country, and are representative, providing useful reference for further strengthening and improving rural governance. It is understood that since 2019, the Central Agricultural Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the National Rural Revitalization Bureau have promoted typical cases of rural governance in China to the society for three consecutive years, leading and driving the work of rural governance in China.

Recently, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Measures for the Implementation of the Responsibility System for Rural Revitalization, proposing the Responsibility System for Rural Revitalization to promote rural revitalization in terms of institutional mechanism. The Measures clarify the various responsibilities of the central and local governments in rural revitalization. The Measures stipulate that the Central Leading Group for Rural Work is responsible for organizing and carrying out major policy research on rural revitalization, while relevant departments of the central and state organs implement various tasks of rural revitalization in their industries or fields. For local responsibilities, the Measures clarifies that local party committees and governments and rural grass-roots party organizations are responsible for the work of rural revitalization in their own regions, and defines 14 specific responsibilities of local party committees and governments in promoting rural revitalization.
