On June 21, 2022, the Seminar on Poverty Reduction for Togo, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), was held in Beijing. Dr. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of IPRCC attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mrs. N’pou Bassoun Nakole IDAMBA, Assistant Coordinator of Green Space Director of Program Assisting on Vulnerable Populations and Mr. Yaovi WAHARE, Official Researcher of Ministry of Territories Development made speeches on behalf of all the participants.

Dr. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General, pointed out in his remarks that the two countries have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in fields like infrastructure, health care, social and people's livelihood, etc., since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Togo 50 years ago. We are willing to further deepen the experience exchange and cooperation with Togo in the field of poverty reduction, strive to build China-Togo cooperation into a new model of China-Africa cooperation, and jointly promote China and Togo to achieve the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on schedule.

The seminar lasts 10 days and a total of 24 Togolese participants from Ministry of Public Projects and Rural Roads, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Ministry of Development Planning and Cooperation attend the seminar.
