Experts from CASS Institute of Russian, Eastern European & Central Asian Studies Delivered a Lecture for IPRCC

On the morning of February 18, 2022, the International Poverty Reduction Center in China invites Professor Sun Zhuangzhi, Director of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) to give a lecture on “Analysis and Prospects of Russia and Eurasia in 2021”, and invites Dr. Yang Jin, Deputy Head of the Central Asian Research Office, Institute of Russian, Eastern Europe and Central Asia to give a lecture on “Prospects and Proposals for Poverty Reduction Cooperation with Central Asian Member States under the Framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO): Taking Uzbekistan as an Example”. All staff of IPRCC attended the lecture.

During the lecture, Professor Sun Zhuangzhi introduced in detail the overall situation and hot issues in Russia and Eurasian countries in 2021, and analyzed the future of Russia and Eurasia region. Dr. Yang Jin introduced relevant situation of the Central Asian member states of the SCO, particularly elaborated on the poverty issues in Uzbekistan, and put forward suggestions on strengthening poverty reduction cooperation among the SCO member states within the framework of the SCO.

Afterward, Professor Sun Zhuangzhi and Dr. Yang Jin interacted with IPRCC staff on issues about the prospects of China-Uzbekistan cooperation on poverty reduction, the involvement of international community in poverty reduction in Central Asia.
