On December 22, 2021, "Seminar on Rural Development Plan and Poverty Reduction for Thailand " sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by International Poverty Reduction Center in China was held in Beijing. Mr. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director-General of IPRCC, and Mr. Wang Liping, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. Ms. Napat Prasertsuvwan, expert of planning and policy analyst of the Ministry of Agricultural and Cooperatives of Thailand, made a speech on behalf of all the participants from Thailand.
Deputy Director-General Mr. Zhang Huidong pointed out in his speech that this seminar will comprehensively and deeply introduce the overall policy framework and concrete practices of China's rural development, as well as vivid practices and basic experience in winning the battle against poverty. We hope the relevant departments of agriculture and poverty reduction in China and Thailand join hands to further strengthen cooperation in rural development and poverty reduction, share policy information, exchange experience and practice, and promote the early realization of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Minister Counsellor Mr. Wang Liping said that Thailand is drawing on the successful experience of human social development with open arms and actively promoting its efforts to eliminate absolute poverty so as to improve the income and skills of its people and enable them to lead a prosperous life. This seminar provides an opportunity for China and Thailand to exchange ideas and learn from each other. We will take this opportunity to further deepen the comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand.
The 10-day seminar was attended by 30 participants from the Thai Ministry of Agricultural Cooperatives.
