Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, Visits National Institute of Vocational Education

On the morning of June 11, 2021, Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), led a delegation of the IPRCC to visit the National Institute of Vocational Education, Beijing Normal University and talked with He Zhen, Dean of the National Institute of Vocational Education. The two sides discussed the issue of how to promote cooperation between them in the field of vocational education.

Zhang Huidong first expressed gratitude to Dean He Zhen for his strong support for the training programs delivered by the IPRCC, and briefly introduced the background of the center's founding and the current situation of the international exchange and cooperation on poverty reduction. He noted that poverty alleviation through vocational education was one of the key tasks of poverty alleviation through education among the five measures for poverty elimination. Vocational education is not only an important part of the stories about China's poverty alleviation to be told to the international community, especially developing countries, but also an important task requiring constant attention in connecting the national efforts to consolidate and expand the achievements in of poverty alleviation with rural revitalization. He hoped that the two sides could carry out in-depth cooperation in poverty reduction training, teaching and curriculum development.

He Zhen introduced the background and evolution of the National Institute of Vocational Education. As a national platform for scientific research, policy consultation, international cooperation and exchange related to vocational education, the institute hopes to carry out in-depth cooperation with the IPRCC in summarizing China's vocational education models and sharing China's lessons in vocational education with developing countries in the future.

The two sides also discussed potential cooperation in terms of sharing of video course resources, expert exchanges and seminar organization activities. Relevant personnel from the Training Division of the IPRCC attended the meeting.
