Seminar on Poverty Reduction through Vocational Training and Labor Transfer for Developing CountriesCompleted Successfully in Beijing

On May 27, 2021, the Seminar on Poverty Reduction through Vocational Training and Labor Transfer for Developing Countries sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) was successfully completed in Beijing. Zhang Huidong, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, attended and addressed the completion ceremony.

Zhang noted that the seminar, with the theme of “Poverty Reduction through Vocational Training and Labor Transfer”, combined lectures, case studies, country speeches and online visits, held discussions from the perspectives of theoretical analysis, policy sharing, case analysis and summary of lessons, produced noteworthy results and effect, promoted mutual learning, and drove cooperation and exchange. As he stressed, China and other developing countries are faced with the arduous task of promoting coordinated economic and social development and realizing national modernization in an all-round way. It is of great practical significance for optimizing the development strategies of all partners and improving their development models and effectiveness of poverty reduction by promoting international cooperation and strengthening sharing of relevant lessons. IPRCC is willing to keeping contact with all counterparts, communicating with each other and expand collaboration programs in joint efforts contributing to the development of the human kind and poverty reduction around the world.

Ong Wooi Leng, Project Director of the Penang Institute, Malaysia, and Miryusup Umarov, Division Head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, delivered speeches on behalf of the participants of the seminar.

The completion ceremony was concluded by Zhang Huidong’s presenting electronic certificates to the participants.
