The Agency for International Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C. held the Meeting of Achievement Summary and Experience Sharing of the East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) in the morning of November 4 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Mr. Li Xiaobing, Director General of the Agency for International Economic Cooperation, Dr. Tan Weiping, Deputy Director General of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), and more than 20 representatives from the Foreign Capital Poverty Alleviation Project Management Center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the International Poverty Reduction and Development Center of Yunnan Province, and the Project Center of Sichuan Poverty Alleviation and Development Bureau attended the meeting.

In his speech at the meeting, Dr. Tan Weiping introduced the overall progress and experience of the Project, and put forward opinions and suggestions on further promoting the implementation of the project and international poverty reduction cooperation. The representative of each project implementation organization also reported on their respective project.

Mr. Li Xiaobing fully affirmed the effectiveness of the implementation of the Project. He pointed out that the Project has several distinct features: first, the project focuses on the basic livelihood of the partner country, which is small but refined, and represents a vivid practice of the China aid model; second, the integration of China's poverty alleviation experience and international cooperation is a successful exemplar of contributing China’s wisdom and Chinese solutions to international poverty reduction; third, public diplomacy has been carried out effectively during the implementation of the Project, which has greatly enhanced the comprehensive effect of aid.

In addition, Mr. Li xiaobing raised requirements for the overall planning of pandemic prevention and control and project conclusion, strengthening the project evaluation, summary and experience dissemination. Relevant personnel from the Cooperation Office of the IRRCC attended the meeting.
