IPRCC Deputy Director General Huang Chengwei delivered a keynote speech. He analyzed the new concept, strategy and deployment of national poverty alleviation and development and the national poverty alleviation policy system in the new historical period, introduced the working philosophy of “sticking to one goal, highlight two key points, cultivating three brands, grasping four relations, and accomplishing five tasks”, and proposed that the forum shall adhere to the positioning of “uniting academic forces, emphasizing top-level design service, and training and expanding the research team”, establish a flexible mechanism, involve multiple parties, and gradually set up an influential open platform for poverty alleviation theory and policy research.

Based on their respective poverty alleviation research fields, the experts voiced their opinions on China’s poverty alleviation theory and policy frontier research, and put forward suggestions on forum topic and mechanism. They indicated that it is imperative to mobilize more forces to jointly build the forum into an important carrier that pools the wisdom of domestic poverty alleviation research, sets up a poverty alleviation research platform and serves the demand of national poverty alleviation policy.
