Deputy Director General Huang Chengwei Visited the World Bank

25 March, 2013 --- Deputy Director General Huang Chengwei visited the World Bank and held talks with Ms. Joyce Msuya, Coordinator for East Asia and Pacific Region, World Bank Institute, on conducting cooperation in the field of poverty reduction knowledge-sharing.

Huang introduced IPRCC’s building of poverty reduction knowledge-sharing platform, and expressed its willingness to partner with the World Bank in this area.

Deputy Chief of the Information and Communication Division Wang Dajun explained the center’s concept and plan for knowledge-sharing capacity building, and advised a partnership from four respects: developing the strategic planning of international poverty reduction knowledge-sharing, organizing the compilation of Chinese and foreign poverty reduction cases, expanding the development of poverty reduction knowledge products, and sharing poverty reduction training resources through the GDLN.

Mr. Joyce Msuya appreciated such suggestion and expressed the readiness of the World Bank Institute to show coordination and support in the said area. She pointed out that the World Bank will pay special attention to and take an active part in the compilation of Chinese and foreign poverty reduction cases, and suggested involving such international agencies as KDI and DFID for the purpose of drawing upon international experience, bringing in international resources, jointly building the poverty reduction case library and advancing the internationalization process of China’s poverty alleviation experience.

Relevant staff from the Information and Communication Division also attended the event.
