IPRCC Assistant Director General Wang Shu Met with Mr. Philip Karp

12 December, 2012 --- IPRCC Assistant Director General Wang Shu met with a delegation headed by Mr. Philip Karp, Advisor of Office of Asia and the Pacific Regional Vice Presidency at the World Bank, Regional Coordinator for GDLN East Asia and the Pacific, and discussed the issue of further strengthening cooperation between the two sides.

Philip Karp introduced the latest file “GLDN Member Subsidiary Strategy” discussed in September 2012 in GDLN Global Council. He hoped that IPRCC would continue to participate in GDLN regional and global-level activities, and share China’s successful poverty reduction and development experience in flexible and diverse ways with international community through the GDLN platform based on making full use of its own advantages and characteristics.

         

Wang Shu welcomed Philip Karp’s visit and gave high appraisal to his suggestions. He said that IPRCC has always attached great importance to the cooperation with the World Bank and the World Bank Institute. In the future, IPRCC will continue to actively engage in GDLN’s construction and development, and make the best of such platform to popularize China’s successful poverty reduction and development experience. In the meanwhile, the Center will create conditions and gradually explore means and methods that can well combine training and exchange with GDLN network and promote each other.
