14 February, 2012 --- IPRCC Deputy Director General Mr. Huang Chengwei met with Head of DFID (UK Department for International Development) China, Mr. Chris Chalmers at the center.

Mr. Huang Chengwei briefed him on the four major poverty reduction events in China in 2011, the policies and measures put forward in the Outline for Development-oriented Poverty Reduction for China’s Rural Areas (2011-2020) as well as IPRCC’s work plan in 2012. Mr. Chris Chalmers made a brief introduction to the new initiatives and key areas for DFID-China cooperation in the past few years, and expressed his willingness to further strengthen the cooperation between the two sides in summarizing and sharing the experience in poverty reduction. Also, both sides exchanged their views on issues such as IPRCC’s positioning and the new Board meeting.

DFID Environment Adviser Ms. Wu Lin and the relevant personnel from IPRCC’s General Affairs Division and Exchange Division were also present at the meeting.
