From June 1 to June 3, the review meeting of "Yearbook of China's Poverty Alleviation and Development (2011)" was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. The event was chaired by IPRCC Deputy Director-General Wei Chongjin. Deputy Secretary-General of Shanxi provincial government Wang Chun addressed the meeting. Nearly 70 people attended the event, including IRPCC Director-General Xu Hui, China Financial and Economic Publishing House Editorial Director Lu Guangde, and representatives from the poverty alleviation offices of various provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and relevant provincial or municipal collaboration offices as well. Director-General Xu Hui, in his speech, stressed the significance of compiling the Yearbook, clarified the objectives and requirements for further improving the quality of the Yearbook and continuously enhancing its social influence, and made specific arrangements for the next phase of the task. Director Lu Guangde made comments on the common issues in yearbook compiling.

In the group discussion, the representatives, in four groups, studied the key idea of Xu Hui's speech, talked about their understanding and expectation of the yearbook compiling, examined the drafts and put forward revision views.

After the meeting, the participants paid a visit to the Enriching Hundred Households facility - Vegetable Park of Donghuangshui Town, Yangqu County, visited local farmers and learned about the advanced experience of Yangqu County in poverty alleviation and development in contiguous areas.
