Launching Ceremony of "Yearbook of China's Poverty Alleviation and Development (2010)" Held in Beijing

December 22, 2010 --- the launching ceremony of "Yearbook of China's Poverty Alleviation and Development (2010)" was held at the Masonic Hall of Fraternal Cooperation International Hotel Beijing. Mr. Fan Xiaojian, Director General of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development (LGOP), and Wang Guoliang, the Deputy Director-General of LGOP, attended the launching ceremony and donated books to the representatives from offices of poverty alleviation and development of different provinces.

 

 

The launching ceremony was chaired by Jiang Xiaohua, Member of the Party Committee and Director-General of Department of Planning and Finance, LGOP. The relevant leaders from offices of poverty alleviation and development of different provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Zheng Wenkai, Deputy Director-General of LGOP, pointed out that "Yearbook of China's Poverty Alleviation and Development" is the first comprehensive reference book edited by LGOP to fully reflect the annual progress in the field of poverty alleviation and development in China, and the publication of this book will play a positive role in comprehensively promoting the poverty alleviation and development in China. We’ll continue to work hard in the future to make the "Yearbook" an encyclopedia reflecting the overall situation of poverty alleviation, an important window showing the achievements in poverty reduction and a valuable reference book meeting the current situations and benefiting future generations, to that extent, making "Yearbook of China’s Poverty Alleviation and Development" a real reference book for governing and a historical book for recording history.
