“From Policy to Practice: Seminar on Promoting Rural Enterprises Development for More Inclusive Economic Growth” Opened in Beijing

20 October, 2014 --- The opening ceremony of “From Policy to Practice: Seminar on Promoting Rural Enterprises Development for More Inclusive Economic Growth”, sponsored by IPRCC and the World Bank, was held at Beijing Henan Hotel. The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Wang Shu, Assistant Director General of IPRCC. Mr. Liu Shuwen, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Social Mobilization of LGOP addressed the ceremony. Mr. Van Staden Anton Francois from the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform of South Africa (DRDLR) delivered a speech on behalf of the participants.

Themed on “Rural Development and Poverty Reduction”, the 15-day seminar consists of two parts: expert lecture and field trip. Relevant experts and scholars from China will introduce such topics as the overview of China’s social and economic development, China’s rural poverty reduction policies and practices, the evolution and employment promotion of China’s township enterprises, technological innovation and financing of China’s small and medium-sized enterprises, the actuality, problems and challenges of agricultural industrialization development, China’s youth employment and entrepreneurship promotion policies and practices, experience and practice of China’s foreign poverty alleviation projects. The participants will also go to Chongqing Municipality and Shandong Province for field researches.
