Seminar on Realization of the UN MDGs for Officials from Francophone Africa Opened in Beijing

15 November, 2012 --- The opening ceremony of the Seminar on Realization of the UN MDGs for Officials from Francophone Africa, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by IPRCC, was held in Fraternal Cooperation International Hotel, Beijing. The opening ceremony was chaired by IPRCC Assistant Director General Wang Shu. Liu Shuwen, Director of the International Cooperation and Social Mobilization Department of LGOP addressed the opening ceremony. Ms. Pascaline Razanampamonjy, an official from the Ministry of Water Resources of Madagascar, delivered a speech on behalf of all participants.

               

Themed on “Realization of the UN MDGs”, the seminar comprises four parts - expert lectures, country-specific presentations, case study, and field trip. Domestic experts and scholars will introduce the effects and strategies of China’s national economic and social development, China’s progress and experience in realizing the MDGs, the strategic system and basic models of China’s rural poverty reduction, the management and policy systems of China’s labor employment, China’s development patterns and experience in such fields as rural education, health, eco-environment, women development and social security, and the influences of international development aid on China’s poverty reduction. The seminar will also arrange the participants to make a field trip to Enshi City of Hubei Province.

 

               

27 representatives from the government organs related to poverty reduction and development of 11 countries, including Congo (Kinshasa), Djibouti, Guinea, Comorin, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Chad and Cote d'ivoire, attended this seminar.
