The 5th China-Africa Experience-Sharing Program Closed in Beijing

10 November, 2012 --- The 5th China-Africa Experience-Sharing Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, LGOP and the World Bank, organized by IPRCC and co-organized by UNDP and China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges, was closed in Beijing. Wu Jinkang, Deputy Director General of International Department the Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Khwauli Boster Msiska, Deputy Minister of Economic Planning and Development of Malawi summed up the program.

                

At the meeting, delegates carried out thematic discussions and field investigations on “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Financing and Inclusive Growth”, involving the following topics: developing MSME financing and promoting inclusive growth; creating a sound policy environment conducive to MSME financing; strengthening financial infrastructure for MSMEs; encouraging MSME innovation and financing cooperation. Delegates shared the knowledge, exchanged the successful models and concepts of MSME financing in China and African countries, and discussed the cooperation framework for MSME financing through case study, success factor summary and experience extraction, which further enhanced the exchanges and cooperation in such field between China and African states. During the program, all participants went on a field trip to Anhui Province. They held talks with representatives of such departments and agencies as the Financial Affairs Office, Department of Finance, Guarantee Group, Rural Credit Union of Anhui Province and Ma’anshan Rural Commercial Bank, learned Anhui’s MSME development status and financing strategies and modes, visited Anhui Feixi Rural Commercial Bank Zipengshan Branch and interviewed loan business customers, got the picture of microfinance support for agricultural development, investigated Anhui Commercial Bank and visited MSME clients, visited the village-level poverty-relief mutual fund cooperative in Sanchong Village, Nangang Township, Shucheng County, Anhui Province and visited borrowers. Thanks to the six-day in-depth discussions and field trip, participants realized the practical significance of MSME financing for the developing countries to improve their development strategies and development capacity. China and Africa enjoy good prospects for cooperation in MSME financing and will achieve common prosperity and progress by learning from each other and actively promoting experience exchanging and knowledge sharing.
