Research

The Research unit aims to analyse and disseminate social development and poverty reduction strategies. Some key research activities include:

•Analysing development models, major achievements and experiences both from China and throughout the international community;

 
•Collecting and compiling the results of poverty reduction research and policy analysis both from China and throughout the world;

 
•Carrying out comparative studies on poverty reduction patterns between China and major developing regions and countries;

 
•Conducting research and analysis on development and anti-poverty theories and policies;

 
•Promoting the development of international anti-poverty studies and policy analyses;

 
•Enhancing pro-poor strategies both in China and other developing countries;

 
•Building a database for social development and poverty reduction statistics and research materials;

 
•Providing technical assistance to policy makers, researchers and practitioners in the field of anti-poverty policy; and

 
•Improving the IPRCC’s research capacity by applying both theoretical and empirical approaches
