Seminar on the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Aid Project (TA6428 & TA4933) - Coordinated Poverty Reduction Strategies and New Characteristics of Poverty Issues in China From May 25 to 26, 2010, the Research Division will hold the Seminar on the ADB Aid project (TA6428 & TA4933) - Coordinated Poverty Reduction Strategies and New Characteristics of Poverty Issues in China.

Themes of the seminar:

1. China’s coordinated poverty reduction strategy system in the new stage: problems, challenges and policy frameworks 2. New characteristics of poverty issues in China

The seminar consists of six sections:

Opening Ceremony

Subject 1: Background, Contents and Policy Framework of Coordinated Poverty Reduction Subject 2: Strategies and Policies of Coordinating Poverty Reduction between Urban and Rural Areas Subject 3: Strategies and Policies of Coordinating Poverty Reduction among Regions Subject 4: Strategies and Policies of Coordinating Poverty Reduction at Community Level Subject 5: New Characteristics of Poverty Issues in China Summary

The seminar will last for two days:

On the 1st day, the theme and content of each subject will echo the “ADB Aid Project (TA6428) ‘Study on China’s Coordinated Poverty Reduction Strategies and Policy Framework in the New Stage’”.

On the 2nd day, discussions of each subject will echo the study contents of the UNDP program and fiscal program which are newly set up this year. Discussions of each subject include three sections: “research achievements to be reported by members of each subject”, “comments” and “free discussions”.
