2013 Seminar for Officials on Inclusive Growth and Rural Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Asian Countries Closed in Beijing

27 September, 2013 --- The 2013 Seminar for Officials on Inclusive Growth and Rural Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Asian Countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by IPRCC, was closed at Beijing Fraternal Cooperation International Hotel. More than 15 government officials from the related government departments of Asian Countries participated in the 15-day seminar. At the ceremony, IPRCC Assistant Director General Wang Shu congratulated on its complete success, and Mr. Bagyshbek Zhakypbekovich delivered a speech on behalf of the trainees.

Themed on “Inclusive Growth and Rural Sustainable Poverty Reduction”, the seminar aimed to introduce China’s achievements and experience in poverty reduction to government officials from various Asian countries, to promote knowledge sharing among different countries in terms of poverty reduction policies and elimination of poverty, and to facilitate the poverty reduction process and development of the developing world. During the seminar, the trainees went on a field trip to Wuhan and Xiaogan of Hubei Province to learn about local poverty reduction policies and patterns and to visit various poverty reduction programs, such as industry-led poverty reduction, social security, and environmental protection programs.

At the closing ceremony, the trainees spoke highly of this seminar and recognized the precious experience gained and policies adopted by China in promoting rural poverty reduction and social development. They said they would apply such experience to their own countries and expressed their willingness to constantly deepen the communication and cooperation with China in various fields.
