Seminar on Nepal Rural Areas Development Opened in Beijing

6 April, 2012 --- In the afternoon, “Seminar on the Development of Nepal Rural Areas”, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C and organized by the IPRCC, was convened at Beijing Fraternal Cooperation International Hotel. Mr. Wei Chongjin, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, chaired the opening ceremony. Mr. Li Chunguang, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Social Mobilization, LGOP, addressed the opening ceremony. Mr. Dahal Gopal Prasad from Nepal delivered a speech on behalf of the participants.

Themed on “Rural Areas Development” and composed of expert lectures and a field trip, the 21-day seminar will have domestic experts and scholars introducing the general situation of China’s social and economic development, China’s rural development history and achievements, China’s rural development policies and experience, China’s rural poverty reduction policies and practices, production and operation mode of rural residents, rural market system operation, rural China healthcare policies and practices, rural China educational development policies and practices, rural China science and technology policies and practices, rural China financial policies and practices, rural China social security system, rural community governance system, the challenges and countermeasures of rural China development, as well as the experience and implications of rural development. The participants will also go to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for a field research.

Fifteen representatives from the relevant Nepalese government authorities of rural development and poverty reduction attended the event.
